Before I began teaching, my intention was to work in the business work for a number of years with the intent to use that experience to prepare students for life after high school. I spent 10 years in the software industry, steadily moving into management roles. The transition to the classroom and I taught for several years. Realizing the need Montana has for superintendents and recognizing the opportunity to use the skills acquired over the years in business to further my goal of preparing students, I shifted to the administrative ranks. It is quite fulfilling to support the staff in their work with their students and it is thrilling to watch students grow over time. While not without its difficulties, working in education and seeing students' progress is extremely rewarding.
